The Speech and Hearing Clinic is located at the University of North Texas in Denton. This is a research and teaching facility which includes a small clinic. We have also master planned the research and clinic center which will include psychological and educational therapy. All facilities are planned to have a public “face” which describes what the institution is about. For the speech and hearing clinic, the facade entry consists of a glass wall which displays nine large computer screens. These continually illustrate the various research projects of the faculty. Directly above, on the second floor is the research library which projects over the entrance with a large bay window. The entire facade is slightly curved so that footsteps toward the building are amplified upon approach thus increasing auditory awareness.
